I bought a 78 Firebird with the harder to find Esprit edition, but too many projects already, and wife is not too crazy about one more project around the house until I get the others running (she wants to drive not to stare at them
. Registration is current until December 2012, clean title and pink slip on hand.
My plan was to build a LS1 turbo setup on this car (I love the 77-79 second gen body), and looked forever to find a solid rust free car like this that had not been molested. I have 4 projects in progress right now, so this one would sit in the backburner.
The great:
Very solid body and very solid car overall. Leather interior in great shape, V8 engine (believe it is a 350), and tranny likelly a Turbo 350. Tires are pretty new, wheels are the original Esprit trim and in excellent shape.
The bad:
Paint blem on top rear roof rear section, The car sat in a garage and outside covered but sat after paint and moisture made paint crack on a small area.
Located in Pleasanton area. Body is very solid, but paint has some clear coat fading areas on some spots. On the top rear paint has some cracking from the car being stored under a cover. I do not see any rust just bad paint. The color is a beautiful dark metallic green
I would entertain a possible trade for LS1 engine and tranny complete plus cash, other parts I want are 243 heads and cam, LS6 intake, ls1 turbo, 18" wheels and tires, etc.
Tires replaced recently, has rare and had to find 16" wheels, AC, etc. Runs and drives great.
