Default Timber Lakes Elementary - 1st Annual Car Show

Tyler, my 2nd grader at Timber Lakes Elemetary came home the other night with a flyer talking a mile a minute about a car show at his school!
And he wanted to know if "our" car could be in it... fast forward to this afternoon:

Right before Tyler got out of school...

My 4 year old, Mason, helping... I actually had to tell him to stop polishing the car!! LOL I rent him out cheap btw!

Ready for the show... looks like rain...

Rain in Florida in the afternoon? Who'da thunk it!

Despite the rain, we were rewarded with 1st Place & People's Choice award!!

Tyler kept turning on the lights to show off the Cobalt gauges to his buddies and telling them about the engine and how fast the car was in his opinion... and Mason had just as much fun telling everyone "this is my Daddy's car!" and giving them "the full tour" as he knew it!

It was REALLY COOL watching them get excited and being so involved!! From pre-show detailing to telling people about "their" car! What a great way to spend an afternoon with my boys!!

But isn't that what this is all about?

That, my friend, is EXACTLY what it should be all about!

In their eyes - the car is BETTER THAN PERFECT in every way... and it's something they'll never forget. It's the baddest azz car in the entire UNIVERSE.

I remember - and we still talk about - the road trips done in my '67 BB Vette... each was 10 yeas old at the time (they're 4 years apart)... it's some of their fondest memories.

Come to think of it - if that's their fondest memories - maybe I wasn't such a great Dad. Well... that's a whole different thread.

Default 4 year old likes the 248/260 solid @ idle...

I idled the car across the grass to the parking place and the little guy, Mason, starting giggling... I said "what's so funny buddy?"

He said, "All those guys just turned around and started watching us!"
"This is SO cool!"

I love how in every picture above he's busy buffing the car! Especially the first one where he's up on his tip toes to reach the trim on the back glass!

Like I said before... great way to spend the afternoon with my boys!!

And in their eyes this is the biggest trophy in the world! LOL

And just one Dad to another....

Remember that #1 finger now - won't be the same one he gives you when he's 16. But try to remember these good moments when that comes your way.
