Default Carrollton, TX

Anyone live there or nearby that can give me some simple information about what it's like? I've applied for a couple jobs within my company and would be working there if I get one of the jobs. It may be a little premature as I just applied today but I feel good about it. That's probably because there's more than one opening. I figure I might be third in line but if there are three openings, that's better than being fourth in line

I live near it. About 20-30 minutes away. It's in the DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth) metroplex. It's a very nice part of town. I would definately recommend without hesitation living there if you get the job. I would advise though you better get ready for this Texas heat though. It is hotter than a devil here.

That's good to hear. Thanks. I spent 3 months in FW training and liked it a great deal. However, I have been told Dallas is much different. I wasn't sure if Carrollton was a good area or not so good area. I figure I might have to commute a bit just to be able to afford to live but that's ok. I'm also assuming there is plenty of auto stuff to do in the area. I'm kind of excited really. I know it was just an application submission but I'm a little bummed to be in Kansas and had reserved myself to returning to Georgia which feels a lot like quitting. So to see this actual engineering job come up that could help me towards me PE and for it to be in an area I think I would enjoy living is great.

Oh and it's actually hotter and colder in SW Kansas than the DFW area. So I know I can handle the climate. Heck, it would feel like living in Georgia again.

I used to work in Carrollton. It is a nice area and is located on the George Bush Turnpike which makes a lot of areas and housing options available. From rural to high density is within an easy commute. Housing is reasonably priced.

I'm working in Irving/Coppell right now, I actually live in Mobile, Alabama but been here about a month. I will probably be here another two months or so, that whole area Irving, Coppell, Carrollton and Lewisville is really nice. Good Luck.
