Default RideTech Sandhills Open Road Challenge update & pics!

We have had a blast so far! Everything has gone great!
We ran 136mph in the half mile yesterday & we think we were within 3 seconds of a perfect run on the Open Road Race today (we will find out in a few hours).
Here is a pic of us leaving our home town of DeSoto, KS.

Here is a pic of our camping spot in the middle of Arnold, NE at the Arnold motel & campground! lol

This one shows the start of the road where the SORC takes place. Lots of elevation changes & very curvy!

Here is one of Optima, NHRA, Top Fuel driver, David Grubnic riding in our Fairlane wagon! He is a very cool guy, LOTS of fun to be around!

This is the start of the open road race.

This is one of the coolest things I have ever done in a car!!! I cant thank the guys from Optima, Bret Voelkel, & all the folks from RideTech enough for this experience. It was truly amazing!

Yep...this all looks and sounds familiar! I am officially jealous I could not attend this year. Thanks so much for carrying the RideTech banner...It could not have worked out better!

Results-
Our target was 91mph average, that is for a 55.3 miles. We averaged 90.823mph. We came in 4th out of 12 cars in our class. We finished right behind David Grubnic, I really like Grubnic but I wanted to beat him really bad! We were 4.1 seconds too slow from a perfect time.
I told Grubnic "If I were driving a sedan, your ass would have been mine!!!" lol
It was an experience of a lifetime.
Here are a few more cool pics

Loved your car and it was great seeing it run at the event!

Hope your trip home was nice and uneventful

Congrats on the great finish. Hopefully next year I will have my 65 back on the road and we can meet up and caravan up there (assuming you will run again next year). Talk Mark into bringing the Buick too while you are at it!
