Default 12 bolt setup woes

I'm curious if anyone has had problems fitting a new yoke onto a new pinion? I'm having trouble getting my Moser yoke to slide down enough on the new Motive pinion. I wonder if I take the pinion and set it up on my press and press on the yoke and pull it back off if that would free it up a bit to get it to slide down further by hand?

With most new yokes and gears, I have had to use the pinion nut or an arbor press to get them on when new. No they don't slide on by hand at first, Hope this helps

Using just the pinion nut would cause serious problems considering only 2 threads were engaged and that was without the thick washer. I took care of it though. I used lapping grease and setup the pinion on my press. I pressed on the yoke and pulled it off several times. That, along with the lapping grease, freed it up enough to be able to put on by hand.
Thanks
