In response to asking us what we think it's worth, here's a point of reference since you asked. I just recently sold my ZZ454 with 3800 miles on it in similar show-ready condition with the same valve covers and some billet and stainless goodies for $4200. I had about $7300 in it. I had no serious buyer interest in it at $5K(Ebay or forums), but plenty of interest around $4K+. Yours of course comes with the injection system, distributor, headers, front runner system with accessories, dyno runs, and tranny. That's a nice complete setup. As you know, sometimes it's easier and more lucrative to sell those parts separately, which is what I had to do with my similar components. Hope that info helps and hope the right buyer comes along for you.

I agree.^^
Chris..... break it up and you'll move it faster and probably cumulatively make more $$ than selling it whole.

Fesler, while there is no question about the quality of this motor or anything you do, I'll share with you a discussion me and my engine guy had this past Monday. I was going by to leave him a deposit on my cylinder head port and polish work he's getting ready to do on my L92 heads. When I walked into the shop and I hadn't been by there in a couple of years since he built my BBC 509 back in the day, all I saw in his shop were LS blocks...all types, LSX, 6.0's, 6.2's, 7.0's, you name it. I said, "man look at all the LS's you've got going on." And he said, "yeah, you can't hardly give away and small or bbc these days." Just like your customer is moving from the ZZ454 bbc to an LS3, so are 75% of the others out there. Now, don't get me wrong, a bbc is still the shyza and ain't nothing like it. But, it's just that the LS series have become so increasingly popular it's almost impossible to get rid of a sbc/bbc unless the price is almost next to nothing. Just like member chr2002ca said in his post when he sold his at nearly 40% less than what he had in it. Now, that motor is a very good price you're selling and well worth it, but again, like your customer, most everyone is moving to an LS. Good luck with the sale.

There are still hardcore big block guys but used eninge in general don't bring good money. You can get a brand new ram jet 502 for 10k. I'd say your whole package is worth 8-9k. The 50% of retail rule is usually pretty accurate for used stuff.

Todd, I had you in mind when I was writing my post. I know you are a hardcore bbc enthusiast to the heart. I would still have my 509 had my cam no went flat. When that happened that was my cue to go LS. I wanted an LS before my cam went flat, but wasn't going to spend anymore money. So, instead of fixing the bbc, I just used that money and bought the LS and sold my 509 to my buddy. Nothing like the rumble of my bbc when I used to start it up an roll thru my neighborhood. And yes, it's true, there is that unwritten rule of 50% off full value on the street. Sucks if you are the seller and all good if you are the buyer.
