Default HRE Wheels??? HELP HELP HELP Marcus!!!

Anyone know if you can change the back spacing on 3 pc HRE wheels? I have a deal on a set but the back spacing is wrong on the rears also I need to have widened? I know with Fikse they would just sell me me the bigger hoop that I need, does HRE do that? I know I need to call they but they are not open today and of course the deal for the wheels is here today and only today So hoping someone else has worked with HRE on this before? They are only a deal if I can make the wider, I can work around the back spacing but I can't put a big tire on a small rim! They are 18 x 8 help!!

Yes - HRE can widen or change backspacing on their wheels. You'll wind up buying new hoops (at least one per wheel if not two) but in my experience they have no problem doing so.

Rick,

I did that very thing with my HRE's.

HRE charges $250 each for the inners and $300 each for polished outers. They also charge $100 per wheel to disassemble, inspect, reassemble, and leak check. Plus you have to ship to and from Southern California. This is not a cheap venture.

You can also buy rim halves online and perform the operation yourself. This is not recommended by HRE, but I purchased new polished outers and a tube of sealant (which is enough to do ten wheels) for $525. I was also able to sell my outers and recoup some cash.

It was very easy to disassemble, clean, reassemble, and seal.

Thanks for the fast replies guys and to Ron who called with in a few minutes of my post! Thanks Ron! I was at the guys house looking at the wheels when Ron called, I made an offer but he was looking to get a little more, but with what I will need to spend after I buy them I would not go any higher! If I went higher then I might as well just order up a set of Forgelines which might still happen. I will know tomorrow, he had another guy coming to look at them. Although I think he was trying to get me to up my offer, and to think I had cash in my hand for him

Ron I still need to give a call to pick your brain about my motor! Thanks again for the fast help with the wheels!

Backpad is fixed, there is no proper way to adjust the backpad on the center. The rim parts are interchangeable. The only way to alter the fitment of those wheels is to change the size of the rim parts. Please contact [email protected] or call the office at 760-598-1960. Please be prepared to provide the serial number from the backpad of the wheels.

You can also contact me directly at [email protected] with any questions.
