first off, they don't "make" the rear diff. They may sell a complete rear end, but another company physically makes the parts. The warranty would likely be between you and the manufacturer whomever that is. What exactly has DSE told you, and who are you speaking with over there? I cannot imagine them refusing to help, there has to be more to this story.

If he gave them as much information as he's posted here.... it's little wonder he's getting the response he's getting.



To the OP (original poster) -- aftermarket rear end gears are noisy in most cases -- they are PERFORMANCE parts not your grandmothers buick parts... so if you're hearing gear whine on declaration - that would be normal. Is that what you're hearing?

9" third members come preset. Your issue is with the manufacturer if there is a legitament problem. DSE uses Moser, which uses Motiv gears, and they can have noise, especially if it has a Tru-Trac in it.

yeah, tru tracs can get pretty noisy, but what noise are you experiencing and what fluid are you using?


which one applies to your situation
Howling- accelerating, deceleration, up hill, down hill coast
Whine
Knocking- heavy, moderate, and light (clicking)

That's the key word right there..... "used!!". Regardless if it was said to only have 200, like new miles on it. When you buy used, you buy as is. I'm pretty sure that was stated somewhere in the sale. Especially, if it was being sold off another person's car who wanted to go another route.

Did you follow the break in process right.After install It must be driving 20-30 miles (vering speed's but not thrashing on it) then allowed to fully cool. Then repeat the process.If the break in process is not followed to the letter it will make noise.This is not DSE's or Moser's problem.DSE is very easy to work with.They do thing's right and ask that their customer's do the same.
