I've been working with Tyler and HPI on this wheel for what seems like forever. Literally, they ordered another wheel through Driverz, Inc, and when that wheel manufacturer fell on its face and didn't deliver, Tyler had the idea at SEMA that we modify our Thrasher wheel to what he and his customer wanted. After milling these twice, to get them just right, we finally shipped out what we feel is a top notch finished set, and we're going to make this wheel design available to our customers as the "Thrasher 2".
You can order them in all polished, or ceramic coated centers, and polished outer, or just as you see them here, where the whole wheel has been coated, and we left the machined groove down the center of the spoke polished. Lost of different ways we could finish this wheel, We're using a ceramic coating that has been used by the military and armed forces to coat their guns. This ceramic coating is super durable. You can even spray brake clean on the stuff and it won't hurt it. It is however very thin, which is great for tape lines, two toning wheels, etc. Seriously, its awesome, and you can't get this stuff off. You'd have to sand it off to strip it, you can't even cold strip it like we usually do if we need to re-powder coat a wheel. Once it dries, its on there to stay. It's awesome.
So here they are, after a LONG wait Tyler. Thanks for hanging in there with us, and I hope you are happy with them:
