Default Announcing the new Ridetech Renegade Award

A couple weeks ago, Bret sent me an email introducing the new Ridetech Renegade award. They had actually done the first one at OUSCI 2011.

RideTech Renegade Award

The RideTech Renegade Award will be presented to the person who demonstrates the ability to “do the most with the least”.
This person will not necessarily be the fastest lap time, have the best looking car, or be the winner of the event [although they could be]. It should be someone who is mostly “unsponsored”, who has built most of the car in their own garage, and who has obviously put considerable time and effort into educating themselves about how to improve the performance of their car and executing the changes necessary to achieve that.
Congratulations to those who continue to play with cars just for the love of it!

I am happy to say I had the privilege to give this award out at our first Run to the Alamo last week. The winner is a new comer to series and will be a new face to most of you. Greg Davidson has a 2011 camaro, pictured below, that has a 77 style front nose and tail. Just hearing it run, you know it isn't stock and really hauls the mail. In fact, in the last 40 minutes of RTTA when we finally got some dry track, he was a full 5 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. I had watched Greg and others during the day and had picked him before we even knew how fast he really was. So it was great to learn he had beat the field later that afternoon.
Congratulations Greg, welcome to the community and we look forward to seeing what cool pieces from Ridetech end up on your car at other events this year.

So, look for this cool new award and the gift certificate that goes along with it, good toward the purchase of anything Ridetech offers. We will be giving them out at all American Street Car Series events this year plus some other events across the country.

Congratulations to Greg Davidson. 5 seconds faster than #2, what a stud!

Who is this guy, and what's underneath the sheetmetal?

LOL -- Super nice guy -- got to meet him at check in at the hotel... he's a good ol' boy -- and he mentioned something about his NASCAR....

Not sure what's under the hood -- but can tell you it sounded and ran - Bad to da bone!
