Default Aftermarket panels - which to use?

I need to replace the tail panel, door skins and fenders on my 69 Camaro and I am trying to figure out which brand(s) are better to use.

After reading past threads, there have been a lot of complaints about certain brands of quarter panels, fenders and doors not fitting properly - to the point metal had to be added just to make it work. I understand aftermarket will never fit exactly like original, however since I am doing most of the work at home and don't have the metalworking skills to re-engineer a panel to fit on that scale, are there better brands to look at? Goodmark, Dynacorn, AMD etc?

Also, of the panels I am looking to install, are any notorious for not fitting properly?

Thanks.

I would suggest that you refer to the ABS camaro build thread by Jay. you will get get valuable info on aftermarket panels he used in his build. I believe he has talked about some fitment issues with AMD panels.

I would use AMD. We usually use AMD if we need replacement panels at the shop. I put 2 qtrs on a camaro this summer and I was very happy on how they fit the GM doors. Which every car is different. But for aftermarket I think AMD panels are the thickest compared to GM.

AMD,if you want good fitting parts, thicker than any aftermarket metal and in many cases thicker than OEM. AMD quarters for 69 Charger weigh 30lbs more than stock quarters.

The shop I work at part time we use only AMD. When it comes to a Mopar they are the best.
