Hey guys the floors on my 1968 GTO are all solid, i just got done grinding off what paint and surface rust was there, my question to you is what have you used to paint the metal on the interior (floors, sides, roof)? Do i want a rust encapsulator?

The question is similar to which is the best oil debate.

I used POR-15 and was very happy with the application and result then I covered it with Dynamat Extreme.

In progress shot:

Default Eastwood has some good products

I've used a bunch of POR15 variants, and a bunch of Eastwood's products to neutralize rust.
I think the POR15 is good if it's all bare metal/rust and you prep it correctly. When I used it, I had a few parts that bubbled up a little. It may have been my surface prep, or that I painted over some previous paint in parts. Also, it's expensive and I couldn't find any deals when I went to buy it.
Eastwood Rust Converter and Rust Encapsulator are my favorite as of now. The encapsulator covers well and acts a lot like normal paint. They're cheaper starting off, and they have killer deals all the time on thier products. Right now it's free shipping.

I then went with some e-dead brush-on deadener to insulate and deaden the sound.

Good luck.

I wasn't in favor of the Dynamat Extreme mainly due to price. Then I was given 4 large sheets left over from a friends project. I was amazed at the difference. My car has the original Flowmaster dual inlet dual outlet muffler which is relatively loud but decent sounding. The Dynamat made it almost too quiet.

really that quiet?? Well, the car is going to scream and while the car itself will be pretty spartan and race influenced, i would appreciate a quiet cab.
