Default 4L80E in 69 Camaro Shifter

I am planning a 4L80E swap into my 69 Camaro. I would like to use a factory shifter like the G6 shifter. I want the + - bump gear selections. I dont really like the paddle option. Does anyone know what shifter will work?
I also have a LS1 engine the car previously had a 6 speed manual in it. The harness for the motor does not have the auto transmission plugs for it. My shop is telling me to buy a complete new harness. This will allow the engine and transmission to work as one. Any one have any experience with these two problems??

I believe people have adapted the G6 shifter with the manumatic stuff, but you'd without a doubt need a transmission controller that can accept the +/- shift info. I'm not sure if the shifter has the micro switches but that's basically how you'd send the shift info to the controller.

You can convert or get your manual harness converted. I bought a transmission harness off of ebay and installed it in my already cleaned up harness. You will also need the computer updated to run the 4L80e. I believe HP Tuners can do it, or your tuner can probably get it done through them.

Well if you are running the aftermarket transmission controller you won't need to touch the computer, it should come with the wiring to connect to the transmission, but it likely will need some additional wiring from the computer.

After more research i think i would need to buy the stand alone controller. I see a ton of dyno tune guys supposedly wrecking the transmissions. might get a little more out of them but the stand alone like the FAST one seems to be the better choice. I called TCI and they want to sell me the 6X which is a 4L80E with 6 speeds (modified some how) but i cannot find a post or a review on the transmission. A lot of people are bashing them but i want to hear from someone that actually has one.
