Im having the worst trouble finding out info on the wheels I want on my resto-mod 65 Mustang. I was hoping someone on here would have some advice on offset using a TCI front clip. I have installed the front clip which essentially has 1.5 inch drop spindles and can be adjusted down to 2 inch. I am running a stock rear end so I know my off set in order to make the wheels sit up some in the fenders. However with the new TCI front clip no one seems to know what number offset I need in order to tuck some 17x8's up in the fender. I called TCI and they were very little help but told me 4 3/4 inches. I dont know the first thing about wheels so this means nothing to me. Can anyone help figure out what off set I need for this low ride height on a new front clip? Im trying to run 17's up front and 18's in the rear using the American Racing Daytonas. Please help.

4 3/4 is the backspace.

a 8" wheel with 4.75" backspace would have an offset of .25" (1/4") or 6mm.

Have you tried measuring for your wheels yourself? I would suggest bolting on a wheel and tire with the same outside diamter and checking clearances.

Agree with Bryce, even if they tell you a number I would second and thinrd check before ordering wheels. I built a mock up wheel out of cardboard to check both diameter and width. I used the TCI IFS clip on my Falcon which played havock on the track width and clearance, I ended up needing a wheel with a very high positive offset to clear in the front. It can be confusing but given the investment wheels are I would triple check the numbers before ordering.

PS, if you have the skills to install the TCI clip, measuring for the wheels will be cake.

There is the link to the black Daytona's I would like to run. Im doing one of those dare to be different kind of cars. Rather than do the dime-a-dozen V8 swap i am keeping the inline 200 and beefing it up with the help of clifford performace. As of now it looks like the car will have a little under 300hp and will have 420lb or torque. Im going to black out the whole car and go for the sleeper look.

Lowfast: I had a chassis guy help/do a bunch of the clip work. Hes into bagged stuff so this is his first muscle car. Do you have any tips on fine tuning when I get it rolling. I thought you might have some ride advice.

No set-up advice yet, mine is still up on the jackstands, I am currently working on my rear Triangulated 4-link set-up. I do hope to at least have it sitting on the ground by Christmas. The custom truck guys should be able to help you with BS and Wheel set-up, that is a critical skill for getting wheels on a bagged truck to properly tuck.

So the wheels im looking at are gonna be staggered 17's and 18's. But in those sizes they say the offset available is offered in +0 or +25 in your opinions is that going to be way off or is it possible it will fit. I asked the guys at the shop do a wheel mock up out of cardboard as previously recommended but they have yet to do it. So i thought i would inquire some more.
