Default Went to some Nascar today...

But they're not going in circles this week
I don’t post much over here, but I thought you all might enjoy a few of the pictures I took today.
I skipped out of work for a few hours and went to my local road course, Road America to watch some Nascar Nationwide/Grand-Am practice.

Here is the car number that one last year, getting set up by Carl Edwards' stunt double so it's ready when he flies in tomorow.
Exiting turn 14, full throttle up the front straight

Here is what the cars look like on the gas exiting turn 6 (Where the big pile-up was last year). Cool stuff!

These cars are so unsophisticated which makes them so much fun to watch on a road course.

New Comaro's make great looking and amazing sounding race cars, we'll see how well they compete tomorow.

I love v8 muscle as much as the next guy, but also love all sorts of quick little cars too as I have a Neon SRT4 as a daily driver.

Very cool!

We may not be on the track this weekend but the OPTIMA Batteries OLC is hanging out with the NASCAR crowd this weekend at Road America as well...

I'd love to build a Pro-Touring Pro Stock Nascar...

Here are a couple more, I was with the Family so I didn't get the opertunity to roam around and take a ton more pictures.
Jacque Villeneuve workes his but off. Great show up front.

For those that have not been to Road America, I thought this picture gives an idea of the environment. It's a very big, fast place.

The Grand AM GT cars are very cool, Pretty much what a modern "Trans Am" should be.

Here is a couple more. These Mazda's are nothing like the booming V8's, love the diversity. These things just scream!

It's sure is odd seeing a BMW and hearing a v8 roar rather than the screamin' mechanical sounds of the inline 6.
