Default Does anyone want a career change?

All,

I'm Robert Kibbe - I host The MuscleCar Place podcast show that has been posted here a few times. I'm sure that this could be a bit of a weird thread, but over the next 30 days I really want to hone my business in on how to give the most important people in the world (i.e. you) exactly what it is that they want. I'm starting with, of all things, career change questions!

It may seem a little weird, but one of the things I speak with people most about is doing a career change. I used to be a full-time cubicle dwelling engineer, and now I get to run The MuscleCar Place and work with start-up companies that are more closely related to my love for cars and engines. My life is not easier than it was before, but I do enjoy it more!

So, the point of this thread is to figure out if people actually want help doing an automotive career change, or if it's more of a passing fancy. I've got a survey set up for just that here, and I'd love your feedback. This will tell me if it's an area I need to focus on for people or if I need to concentrate on something else!

As an incentive, those that take the survey will receive two entries into our monthly $200 Gift Certificate contest from TCI (the winner will be chosen June 13).

Thanks for the help!

Its kind of ironic, I actually left the automotive industry because I was loosing interest (Worked for EPD racing Cylinder Heads in the 90's). and since I left the industry I know appreciate cars again.

Myself I could never work in the industry again...it would kill my passion for cars as a hobby

Thanks, Greg! You're definitely not alone in that.

For those of you that do complete the survey, be sure to leave a reply here (or PM me) that you did so. I'm using people's replies here that they've completed the survey as an entry. I'll admit that I thought the survey would ask for an e-mail address, but after testing it myself I see that it did not!

Thanks to all of you! The turnout has been incredible. I'll announce the winner on Monday June 13 at 12PM Central time - so still plenty of time to enter.

I took the survey Rob. Now I have to check out the pod casts. I too am an Engineer that would like to be more involved in this industry on a professional level. Thanks for taking the time to look into this.
