Default Custom American Racing Torq-Thrust D?

I'm interested in getting four 17-inch American Racing Torq-Thrust D wheels. Don't know the BS I'd need. I was just curious if it's even possible to get American Racing to make a custom set of these. Anyone know? As far as I can tell they only make them in 15 and 16 inch.

I realize American Racing makes custom Torq Thrust 2's and Torq Thrust "Classics", but those designs are slightly different. I'd really like the Ds scaled up to 17 inch if at all possible.

If I can't get AR to do it, anyone know of someone who could do one-offs for this wheel? Also, what's up with AR making customs now? A couple of older threads said they weren't doing them anymore.

Thanks for the help!

American Racing is out of business. The remains of the company were bought up by WheelPros, out of Denver. They have discontinued any and all custom wheels and laid off all those employees.

Give forum sponsor Drivers Inc a call and ask them about a set of Vintage Wheel Works wheels. They are a very nice wheel and have a style of torque thrust. I think you have a lot more size options too.

Bummer. Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to look elsewhere.

Thanks. Yes, I've looked at those and am interested. However, the size I'll need are two piece and not one-piece. I'd like not to have that extra small lip. If I am reading CarlC's stuff correctly on PT, he may have them in one-piece 17-inch. I'll call VWW directly.

Thanks again guys.

Default fyi.....

I called VWW this morning. They are working on a one-piece 17-inch design of their wheels and expect to have them ready for purchase later this year.

VWW seems like an awesome company. And their stuff is made right here in the good ole USofA.

You might also look at the ones offered by Billet Specialties and Genuine Boyds.
They have enough 5 spoke designs at different price points to make your head spin.

DriverzInc has a pretty awesome reputation from what I have gathered. I have also talked to Perry from PTS wheels. Newstalgia wheel is another one, between those someone should really be able to help with your quest.

Torq Thrust D's in 17" are basically the CL205, which is on our site here:

WheelPros does own American Racing, but the information above that they don't do custom offsets is not correct. They make their two piece wheels custom, as in their TT2's, CL205s, 200S, etc., all in house.

For a similar wheel, the VWW wheels are an excellent alternative. The centers are a bead blast, which is "old school" in appearance, but for easy cleaning, I suggest you order from us with a clear coat so the aluminum does not soak in any brake dust, dirt, or oil.
