Default B.I.R. Open Track Days - 2006

Suburban Corvettes Of Minnesota will be hosting three open track days/driver schools this year at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, MN. B.I.R. is a high speed 3.1 mile road course with a 4700' long straight! You will get more track time than you'll care to use. I attended one of these last September and it was a blast.

The dates are:

May 25th
August 24th
September 13th

For more info. or to make a reservation, call:

Rick Ohland 651-452-3575 or Mark VerMurlen 651-429-8257

Thumbs up

BIR is a fun track with the high speeds! I just wish that the track surface was a little nicer. It is starting to deteriorate pretty quick. With all the money invested into the drag strip a few years ago, you'd think they would spend some on the road course?

BTW, the vids of the Elcamino on the track are awesome!

Here is a Video of my Impala lapping at BIR. (34.2mb so it may take a bit to download) 1995 Impala SS at BIR

I don't see the road course around for a whole lot longer, so if you ever want to run one of the fastest and longest tracks in the midwest.....

August 24th happens to be my birthday.....hmmmm?

I'll try to hit the August and September runs... I doubt I'll make the May one.

Randy,

Great video! Was that an F-Body club event?

I've seen your car at Car Craft. Looks great!

Thanks Keith! It is hardly the caliber of most of the rides on this site, but it is different and fun to play with.

That video was from the MN F-body's Performance Driving Experience (PDE) in 2004. We went to Mid America Motorplex in Iowa last year, and are returning this year on May 6th.

PDE 2006 Information link

The event is open to any driver and any vehicle that passes a basic safety inspection. Instructors are included for the whole day and at your disposal. It is geared for the beginner and novice as there is no timing equipment (keeps the car insured! ) and simple passing rules. 125+ miles of track time is very common!

We'd love to see some old iron and some G-machines this year!

Randy
