All you guys with Kris Horton renderings (posters)
Any of you that did the renderings and then had posters made up, I am looking for some more to buy for my shops. I still have one of Rick Dorions, but the rest I got from Stuart, Steve Sandlin, Scott, etc. all faded badly. Something to do with the ink used on the later batches of posters. So I will laminate them this time.
So if you have any of these posters for sale please let me know.
A little naive on this one. Kris is doing renderings of my 68 Firebird. Is there a print shop that makes those into posters ? If so, my brothers would really like them.
That's a bummer Jody! Were they in bright light most of the time? I don't know much about printing, but I wonder if the shop that printed them UV treated them too. I know a guy that does UV treatment on all his posters and is reasonably priced to boot. I'll get with Scott about this and see if we can't do a re-run for anyone that had posters made the first time around.
I usually charge a little bit extra to do a seperate 24x36, 300dpi rendering that can be printed by Kinko's or any other print shops. Scott knew a place that did a lot of the past ones and they did a pretty good job for a good price, but now that I hear they're fading, I don't know about the quality. Mine are holding up pretty well as far as I can tell, but they're not hit with a lot of light during the day.
Kris, there were a few batches of posters that were made that used a different process and now those seem to be fading. 1 of mine has faded a bit and the others seem to be fine.
Yes, no direct sunlight ever, they're too high up on the wall. However they do get fluorescent light. My first run of them on an older machine they used are all perfect, but the last ones I got from all the guys are shot. I have one still in the shipping tube which is ok, it has not seen any light. I will get them treated this time!
