Default road race Vette runs the drag strip

saw this on nastyz28.com, pretty cool videos. In the second one he's getting the hang of it.............. Not bad for what's said to be a 314 cid V8. I think Charley needs to add one of these to his stable...........

You can tell it has a light rotating assembly - - Not much built up inertia on the launch, but it revs quick! Any idea of the motor specs? Just curious. That second video is pretty cool.

I guess that goes to show that a car build to handle can also hang at the strip, but not necessarily the other way around.

Awsome!! Thats what I want my car to sound like, although I'm sure it would get old fast on the street.

9.49 idling off the line! That is just sick. Love it!

That was in Memphis at the NFME event back in 2001. I was there. No traction for him at all.

I have no doubt the car could do that but something looks fishy on the second vid. He leaves the line when the 3rd amber is barely on but does not get a red light. Maybe the car is so low the beams don't trip until the back of the car leaves them? Or the one guy is standing in them and gets out after the car leaves.

Definitely. The guy in shorts is screwing with the beams. Watch how he waves the car off, then watches the tree, then lifts his one leg.

That thing sounds wicked! Love it!

bad ass ride- but that's no 9 second pass. Some funny games going on at the start line.

If they could get it to hook up, it probably has a 9 or 10 second pass in it.

Damn that sounds sick in the 1st video towards the end. If my car sounded like that I would have had my license revoked within a week.
