I did recently finished building an blown 525 cid big block chevy engine.
Started with new World product Merlin III tall deck block. allround APR studs and also an engine bolt kit from ARP.
With all new parts.
Owner wanted a bullet proof engine so we went for billet 4.5 stroke crank and billet H-rods, custom Ross-pistons and custom Comp Cams hyd. roller.
ON top we did get a pair of Darts Pro1 325cc, not the cnc versions, did nothing to them but check that they where okey, 1.7 rockers, Weiand 8-71 and two blower series 850 cfm Demons.
Msd pro billet dist and BTM 6 box. Meziere electric 55gal waterpump.
As you can see, nothing super special and we did get 736Hp and 1063nm/783ft/lbs in engine dyno with just 0.55 bar = around 7psi of boost using our higher octaine 98e street gasoline. We got e10 (thats 95oct with max 10% ethanol) and 98 here. We didnt have any other pulleys with us in dynosession so no more boost but we can go up to 1.5 bars/21psi with boost and that gets around 1300Hp and 1500Nm/1105ft/lbs. But you know this: Roots is one big heat pump so better stay away from big boost.
This way the engine will last for many summers on street use.
The dyno guy sayd that it will last for 10 years if we dont lift the boost level.
