it seems like when i think im almost done i need to buy another part or modify this or that.im so close but so far away.i refuse to give up but it really gets to me sometimes.i dont drink and gave up smoking weed so im wound up most of the time.the amount of money and time is triple i thought it would be and my car is not that fancy compared to most.i hope to be done by the camaro show this june but the way things are going im not sure.thanks for listening

At the end of the day, i look at my car as my hobby - speed bumps during the build are a little frustrating, but they're within the nature of the hobby. I don't let them get to me in a way that would REALLY bother me. What would be the point?

Life is complicated as it is, don't let your car make it any harder.

I vent as you just did, and I still drink, so that helps me a lot.

Sometimes I throw things and that helps too

I pefer to throw **** though the walls.....JK, seriously I like to just take a step back, go sit on the porch and hit myself relentlessly with a hammer. That way I cannot calculate how much cheaper drugs, women, and booze would have been. Sure I drool a little and I have a blank stare, but it gets me by.

I look at project forums and buy lots of magazines. Not just Camaro related, but cars of all kinds and I try to get ideas from other types of builds. Worst case scenario I force myself to buy something expensive for it so then I feel obligated to work on it.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I have been saying to myself that I will put my car in the DFW Goodguys show next year since 2005. But, as every year approaches since then my car is never finished. So, as usual, I said it will be in next years's show in 2011. But, it won't be finshed then either.

That says it all right there build the car for you only! I tell all my customers if you follow some of these builds on the site it will SHOCK you how much money it takes (everyone doesn't have $150k - $400k)...You don't have to spend money to make the car nice (attention to details and clean). Put it together within your means (financially, working skills, etc). If you don't break the bank you can always go back and modify or add parts/features. But just having the car done and driving is the key!
