Thumbs up scored BIG TIME with LKQ today

Hey, Guys
It's been a while since I have posted anything, I have been super busy getting things done. I just want to tell you about what recently happen to my 1999 Sierra 2500 GMC, well it had leaky axle seals on the old reliable 9.5 inch semi float 14 bolt. I tried to source some axles in a hurry since it is my work horse. I had no luck calling any of the after market manufactures. (it was a uncommon axle most companys said) Instead I decided to give the GM dealer a call to see what they had to offer. I was told unless I wanted to pay 391 a piece for axle shafts, I was out of luck. I then decied to Give LKQ a call and see what they had for used 14 bolt 10.5 full floater rear axle assemblies. This is a big time upgrade and seemed like a good Idea for a truck that pulls 10k day in and out.

They said they could rebuild build one and drop it at my door for 1500. Now, this sounds like a awesome deal right. Well it was supposed to arrive on Friday but , it arrives on Thursday which was only a day since I placed the order and there is no way in hell they rebuilt the thing and got it to my shop in one day. So I call LKQ with the delivery driver waiting on me, I am all pissed off at this point because I was told the rear axle wouldnt come with brakes if it was rebuilt, but would come with brakes if it was Used.
The axle looks like it was just painted and crated, little did i know that wasn't the case. I didn't inspect the rear really closely to see that the rotors had the GM factory gray coating on them the calipers had inspection marks, and there were no signs of being used. I get a hold of Don over LKQ and he explains to me that it isn't rebuilt but a BRAND NEW (American Axle Manufacturing) AAM GM 14 BOLT 10.5 Full floater fully loaded crate axle with rotors, pads, calipers E brake shoes, and everything. He told me MARRY Christmas it was a GM OVERSTOCK that we bought and I saw you were doing a upgrade on my invoice so I gave you this axle for the same price 1500. I was extremely happy at this point and I wanted to Rave about Don over at LKQ and his awesome customer service. In the mean time I have been driving a 2005 CTS-V as the replacement truck, no I havent been pulling 10k with it either.

If you guys need any parts calling the Redding,CA LKQ and ask for DON JOHNSON , NO joke that's the guys name.
