Default you might know!

Hey guys,

Got a problem with my feul cell, went for a drive yesterday and got home and for some reson my cell was that (HOT) that you could off fried an egg on it.
The system is two boshe pumps and -12 LINE in stainless running in though the car with trim and carpet over it, and into a hogan's manifold and a return line, it is a feul injected LSX and 101 mm turbo so there is a bit of heat in the engine bay. Has any one had this problem or got any thoughts would be great. thanks

The Mule has twin turbos and two Bosch pumps and has had the same problem. One pump runs all the time and the other only comes on under boost. I believe the problem is the fuel system is sized for big power but under no boost just cruising you aren't using much fuel so most of it is just returned to the tank. It slowly heats up. The Mule has a stainless tank that seems to retain heat also. My fix was to mount a pancake style cooler in front of the radiator that the return line fuel passes thru on it's way back to the tank. I have not had it on a long trip since though but I think it will work.

I have a semi-custom setup on my Mustang. The aluminum tank gets very warm in long trips. I thought about running the feed line into a finned in-line trans cooler. One that has -6 or -8 capability.

The other thing was to install a fuel pump controller to only allow as much fuel as needed to the engine. 90% of my driving is under 2k rpm anyway. And the controller would allow full fuel press under boost or WOT.

Default Fuel Controller

Why Use The Aeromotive FPSC

"Ultimately the purpose of installing the Aeromotive billet FPSC is to control the fuel recycle rate and minimize heat transfer from the engine compartment into the fuel and thereby back to the tank,"
