Default 1968 Chevelle SS Pro-Touring Convertible - 502, TKO600, Frameoff

Have been struggling with letting go of this car, but the time has come.

1968 Chevelle SS Pro-Touring Convertible

True 138 Vin code SS convertible. Full frame off restoration.

Drivetrain: Fresh GMPP 502 Iron block and heads, comp cam, comp gold rockers, BG demon 850 carb, MSD, coated headers, 3.5” Pypes exhaust with X pipe. TKO600 5speed with blow proof bellhousing, and centerforce dual friction clutch. Aeromotive fuel pump all new stainless brake and fuel lines. All other lines braided stainless. Griffin AL radiator. Fuel cell in trunk.

Suspension/Brakes: Hotchkis tubular uppers and boxed lowers up front with QA1 adjustable coil overs. Full hotchkis rear suspension with QA1 shocks. Fresh 12 bolt w/ Eaton 3.73 post. 9C1 discs up front, Cadillac discs rear, hydroboost. 18x8” and 18x10” American Racing CL205 wheels.

Interior: Covans dash panel with Autometer Gauges, Power windows and top. Acura TSX front seats, driver is power, stock rear seat – all recovered in black leather with silver carbon fiber inserts. New black carpet, new door panels, Sony stereo in the dash. Trunk restored, optima battery mounted in the back. No heat or AC at this point – vintage AC could be easily added. Flaming river tilt column, interior dynamatted.

Exterior: All original sheetmetal and floors, car is laser straight and never hit. Very nice black paint job. Car was completely dissasemebled, jambed, and done right. Smoothed firewall. All new chrome, bumpers, and trim parts.

Car was built to be driven and is a blast on the street, shows very well and turns heads, sounds like a muscle car should. Some minor paint blemishes, needs speedo adapter, and a few very minor touches to be 100%. SS side markers and glove box badge are original.

Frame and undercarraige completely cleaned and POR15’d. Original floors and trunk pan in excellent condition. Power windows and power top (new).

3 year project that I just don't drive enough. Car runs strong, handles and brakes like a modern sports car. Asking $39,500 OBO. Car is in Austin, TX.
