Default Deciding on the big color change.......

I am at a crossroads with the car. Currently the car is hugger orange with white Z28 stripes. Originally it was garnet red with black hockey sticks. I am really undecided on what do do with the color. The current paint job is a 10 footer that is great for driving the car, but really not show worthy at all and is over 20 years old. With this paint job I don't have to worry about chips or any kind of stuff like that. I have seen several cars in Garnet red but it seems to vary a lot from example to example. I think the red/black stripes would pop against the white houndstooth interior for sure. Thoughts and opinions?

Default take it for what it is worth

personally if you like driving your car, I would leave it alone. I have pretty paint, and it was cool for a while, but would rather have a 10 footer so I am not so concerned with rock chips and off track excursions.

If red is the color you want...change it. It is your car and your money. I cannot tell if that is a SS hood or a flat hood with the blips. Again my opinion but your asked, I think z stripes on an SS hood does not look just right as the blips take away from the stripe. If you go red I would do white stripes to go with the white interior. Do the SS stripe down the fender if it is an SS hood and Z stripes if it is a cowl hood.

Love you car the way it is!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes it is a an SS hood with the slight hood bulge. I agree that the stripes dont look right with the ice cube trays on the hood.

Default I have an SS hood as well

I like them because you do not see them that often.

I really like the carbon fiber look for a stripe as well.

The "Tech 9" 69 camaro really pulled that look off. The color of his car was more of a maroon....

If a paint job will compromise the use of the car, then I'm against it.

You know how it is when you get the big dollar paint job on a car. You worry about leaving it parked anywhere that you can't see it and that first big rock chip is a heart breaker.
