Default Looking for a really good rear end for my car 12 bolt

I just had my 10 bolt built up, and now I'm thinking about changing it out for a better unit. Price is not really an issue, but I wanted a nicer 4 link design, and a very good rearend capable of handling 700hp. I'm not looking for a 9 inch rear. Just a very very good 12 bolt design. Where should I look?

Thanks
Mike

Default rear

Moser does 12 bolts with new housings and you can get ford 9 inch big bearings on the end to eliminate the c clips. Think around $1800 to $2500

Do you know what the power rating might be on something like that? Is the best third member the Detroit true trac?
Thanks

Default When I spoke....

When I spoke with them a year or so ago I was told in the 700 to 800 hp range with slicks. If you are only going to be running a street tire or drag radial you probably wound not get enough traction to break it if you were making more hp. Call them as they would be better qualified to answer those questions.

I went with a tru-trac as I wanted smooth operation and my car is more of a street, open track day car. Lockers are loud, but you can;t beat them on the drag strip...unless you have a spool

I think it's an 8.25 but it has all the upgrades like strange axels, Detroit post with hardened 3.73 gears and an aluminum cover. It's a nice piece and in fantastic shape and was blasted and repainted, but I want and will need something more. It has 0 miles on it since I don't even have the car yet. Here is a good picture of it

Default rear end

if thats a 8.5" those will take ALOT of abuse too - they replaced the 12 bolt as the H/D rear end - maybe just upgrade to 30 spline axles and carrier maybe some billet caps , why not run it till/or of it breaks. The only poeple i have known to break them are running Big blocks with slicks and lots of nitrous(and thats in stock form) if thats not enough-someone makes bolt in Dana 60s that are near indestructible that are reasonably priced- under 2k thay have a 9.25" ring gear on them

I agree with two of the above posts.
1) Moser makes a great 12 bolt rear that can handle your power. or...
2) From the pic, that looks like it may be a 8.5" rear and if it is, there are a boatload of cars that run 9's in the quarter with those. The weakest part is the spider gears.
