Fair Deal for my '68 Firebird?
Hey guys,
It breaks my heart that I even have to consider selling my baby, but times are really tough for my family right now and this is something I may have to do in order to get by. 4 years ago fresh out of college I bought a 1968 Firebird with big plans of making it a pro-touring car. Now the reality is my family and I are struggling to keep our home. I love this car with every bit of my heart and I don't have to tell you guys how many hours of blood and sweat I've poured into this thing. However, I love my family even more and providing for them is my #1 priority. My question is this: IF there is no other option but to sell it, what could I realistically expect to get for it?
Here are a few highlights:
-Custom built, ALL new, never started 383 stroker motor (cost $7k+ to build)
-March serpentine pulleys, MSD alternator, March PS pump
-Swapped orig auto trans to brand new Keisler 5-Speed w/hydraulic clutch
-Brand new Chris Alston subframe w/the works (ps, sway bar, coil-overs,etc.)
-Brand new Northern radiator w/electric fan
-Brand new DSE 3" drop springs
-Brand new Moser 3.55 12-Bolt rear end
-Brand new 18" Budnik Shotgun wheels (brushed finish)
-Brand new Goodmark 400 hood, fenders, doors, trunk, spoiler, front valence
-Wilwood disc brakes all around
-DSE smoothed firewall panel
-Too many brand new extras to list that need to be installed
I removed the interior and have yet to install the Dynamat, carpet (new) and rear seats. Front bench was eliminated with plans on buckets. This car was 99% rust free with minor pinholes in the floorboards and tail panel. Replaced with new welded in metal. It only needs to be prepped and painted, plumbed, and interior re-installed.
Again, selling this is literally my last resort as I have invested well over $25,000 in this thing. I greatly appreciate any input as to what I should ask for this car if that's what I have to do. Thanks in advance guys, the advice I've received in the past has always been top notch.
