Default windshield problems please help

First of all thanks in advance to those who respond. I have been working on my 69 camaro for the last 3 years putting it together as money permits. Recently tried to have glass guy install windshield, as the car did not have one when i aquired it. Problems arose when new windshield was set in place and on the drivers side it contours to dash well. Glass guy told me window has to lay flat along window channel because it gets glued down like on newer cars. This is where the problem begins because on passenger side the windshield sits about 3/8 -1/2" off the dash and window channel. i buzzed down the dash to find a small amount of filler and that helped to bring the windshield closer but i can still fit my finger under the corner. Has any one ever ran into this? can dash be adjusted or is it welded in? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Shane

Yeah, that's a big gap. Did he use the tape style adhesive or the glue?

Can you post a pic?

He was going to use the glue but said since there was such a big gap it would be very sloppy so he didnt glue it.

I may be wrong But I believe your glass guy is incorrect.
