Default For the 57' Chevy Guys?

Just recieved a new project this week, a 57' convertible. The VIN # has X's over the last four numbers. Can anyone tell me what the X's stand for? It is a factory fuel injection car. Thanks

x's over the last of the vin usually means its a prototype car. Are you sure its a factory vin?

yes I'll post pics later today. It is a factory fuel injection, convertible car. I was told there were only 69 of these made. Were they special order only?

Here's a link to some JUDGING INFO on 55 thru 57 Chevys. I did not comb thru it to find out about the "X's" in your VIN plate... YOU can do that work!!

Went to your website. Seems your making progress. Are you doing a stock type build ? What came of the VIN ?

yes it will be an all original restoration. I still have not found anyone who could tell me anything about the X's? I've been covered up trying to finish up the 52' chevy truck, but I'll post more pics this week.
