Default Custom 67/68 Valance

I see a bunch of people grafting in 69 lights into their 67/68 valances. I have been thinking on the idea myself admitedly.

I am thinking of sealing up the opening on a 68 valance. Then drilling out a hole the size of the Marquez driving lights are. Smoothing the hole edges and on the backside of the valance mounting 2 screws for holding the lights in like a guage pod does instraments. Then with the dremmel making 2 channels/grooves outside of the lights but stopping before I get to the edge of the bezel. Then welding small tabs on the top/bottom of the holes in the valance. This would prevent twisting and help secure the lights, and allow me to have just a slightly rolled edge from the lights showing from the front of the valance instead of the cut edge of the hole.

Am I off my rocker?

i bought a 69 valance and cut the light portions out and welded them to the 68.do it, it really wakes the front end up.

Yeah I have seen a bunch of 69 valances grafted into 68 grilles lately, I was toying with the idea of doing something different than that path.
