Default Battery choice

What is everybody running for a battery? Optima seems like an obvious choice but which one? It will be trunk mounted and there are billet cradles for all the styles. Any reason to choose one over the other? group 34, 25/75 ect?

Yeah, normal lead acid has served pretty well over the years. So I stick with those.

For situations where space is tight and packaging is critical:

http://www.braillebattery.com/

http://www.odysseybatteries.net/odyssey_battery.html (see the PC680)

I plan to use one of these for my project since I have no space.

I love my GM professional series battery, cannot kill it and it spins over my 11:1 motor no problem.

I just went through the whole thing, researching all the different brands out there. I ended up going with the Odyssey PC1200MJT, and then the JEGS brand aluminum mount for it. All the posts I read between Pro-touring.com, Team Camaro, and here they were all good. I wanted an OPTIMA but it was like 50/50 out there for people with good things to say about OPTIMA.

I love that Optima supports our genre of cars, but I would recommend buying a battery tender to go along with your optima if you go that direction.

I would recommend a battery tender to anyone with an occasional use car such as these, regardless of battery make...

Very true, but it seems to be particularly necessary with the Optimas.
