If Shelby hasn't sued you then you're just out of the loop.. Sort of sad that his greed will be more of a legacy than some of his cars.

Maybe he will "find" another stack of VIN'd frames in the back of his shop..

It's really to bad at his age. There are simply more important things to worry about when your knocking on your tomb stone.

seems like he should be worth enough money to not have to worry about this kind of thing.. is he worried about people buying a Factory five kit instead of a real cobra? I don't think most of the people with a factory five kit are in the market for a real one... If i were him Id be on vacation enjoying myself instead of in court all the time...

I've always wondered how much of that is Shelby himself or his entourage. I'm sure early on he had a stake in trying to preserve his original legacy, but I would like to believe the company lawyers and his beneficiaries are the ones fueling the train now (and dragging the old man along for the ride). Never met him, so hard to to get a read on his individual motives.
I also wonder what his passing will do to all things Shelby. Enzos passing had a pretty profound effect on Ferrari for a time. The first Barrett/Jackson after Shelbys passing should be interesting....

My take on the thing.90% for the folks buying a factory five kit are like me.I could ever aford a real shelby or a real shelby cobra kit. I've built a few AC cobra kits. They were fun to build and fun to own & drive. But when they sold they didnt bring what the last two camaro's did.I have ever been a fan of the man.I belive men like Bud Moore,Holman & Moody,Jack Roush,Bob Gliddon did more for Ford Racing than Carroll Shelby. He should just ask these kit car builders to donate a small amount ($100.00)per kit to his heart fund. Most of them would probably join in.FFR has sold over 7000 kits ($700.000.00) Thats more money than he has collected from from anyone he has filed suit against I'd bet.Only the Att. win in these things.

Last I read that is more $$ than his charity has paid out, but that was a few years old news, might be different now.

I always ask myself whether he should sue the doctors that kept his heart alive? It obviously isn't a very good heart ! Maybe he feels that he needs the money to have a heart at all?

He has never been the same since the first time he had the heart trouble.

Now what will he do when his brain starts to fail? Maybe it already has and he can't remember what it is they mean by " You Lose"

I don't know why he's so concerned with replicas. He has so many replacement parts in him, he's not an original himself.
