Default My daughter and Carroll Shelby!

Many of you may not know that my daughter is a heart transplant (hence my screen name Xplantdad=transplant dad).

My daughter was had a heart transplant in 1990 at the age of 5 1/2 months (after having open heart surgery and biopsy at 2 1/2 months of age...and almost dying then).

We've had quite a roller coaster ride with some real scares lately but all is looking good.

Through one of my older sisters friends (who lived next to Carroll Shelby and whose husband started the chili cookoff with Carroll)...passed word to Carroll after seeing an article that was posted in the paper about Holly.

Carroll then sent us a autographed limited edition poster when Holly was 3...both Holly and Carroll have had heart transplants...and they were transplanted months apart.

Fast forward to Barrett Jackson 2007 when Holly and Carroll were able to meet up

The picture I took was used in this ad for the Children's foundation the next year

And this picture that I took of Holly and Jenni Shreeves was used this year

Notice who signed the book

Its great to see icons like Carroll involved so much towards a cause. This is some great memorabilia Bruce. Its also pretty cool to hear that your daughter admires cars as much as you also.

Very nice work Bruce. I'm sure Holly was exited about seeing Carrol.
