Um, was there a seal included for where it goes into the trans? Where is the leak?

I would just call you but I lost your number in the whole "cell phone toilet fiasco" several weeks ago.
I sent another PM with a thought on that problem. Let me know how it goes.

I called Lokar and they said the solution is High Temp RTV around the top of the tube going into the trans. I did it last night so will see how it works once it's dried and fill again. I'm just thinking if they want me to use RTV then the o Rings are not doing there job correctly. I did try thicker o rings but I could not get it to go in the whole.

It's not uncommon to use silicone on a dipstick o ring. All the joys of buidling these things....

Should I put it over the o rings as well as the top?

You definitely want silicone where the o-ring seats. That is your smallest window to seal.

Yep -- Basically their stuff is one size fits all - and it really fits nothing - which would include their block dipsticks.

Having said that --- Use black high temp gasket maker/sealant.... not clear "SILLY-CONE" that you'd use to do your windows on your house...

Make sure both parts are clean clean clean clean - which means to me - use brake cleaner and a clean paper towel - a couple of times - put the O rings back on and squeeze your sealant on.

The reason I do not use "silly-cone" == when you think about Silicone - it's a LUBRICANT - and what you're really trying to do is to "glue"/"seal" two surfaces together.... not make them slick... silicone is pliable but needs to be mixed with some gluey stuff to make it a sealant for our uses... Thus the RTV stuff...

Maybe someone can add to my we bit o knowledge -- 'cause sometimes (most?) I get it all wrong... and I'm not above being schooled!
