Default Matal Fabricators Show/Series ??

Just wondering if there is a fabricators show out there anywhere - sorta like Good Guys or something like Hot Rods and Restorations show ?

Think Good Guys - with NO paint allowed. Something that is projects or vehicles 'in progress' that show all the fab work. Plus tools, machines, materials, processes, etc .... (we'd even let the glass and composite guys in too, we'll maybe...)

I know I would spend a week at somethig like that !!

Thoughts ??

Jim

Looking for a dedicated actual 'show' that's car/motorcycle.

Example: When I go to Good Guys or other shows - I find myself looking for and spending a lot of time looking at projects showing their guts of fab. (John's Nova, Troy's 4130 frame for the 300, Yellow Sub at Sema, Morrisions chassis display's, etc) Stuff that's bare metal in process of fab work.

We also spend a bunch of time looking at fantastic fab and build sites/forums/threads/pics - and watching build shows like ‘Rides’.

So I was wondering if there was already a show out there with that theme. If not - maybe there should be one. ??

Think of a deal like Hot Rod's and Restoration here in Indy or a Good Guys show (or Oshkosh even) - with 3 sections:

Standard manufactures mid-way selling fab products and tooling

Display area with nothing but projects in bare metal showing it all in plain view. Bodies, chassis, suspensions, CAM work, etc. Anything metal fab for cars/motorcycles - maybe even some manufactors efforts.

And a section of classrooms with up close demonstrations/discussions of standard fab processes (beading, planishing, e-wheel, cutting, tube bending, welding, solidworks, hammer forming, modeling scanners, etc, etc) Maybe even a couple useful workshops with hands on learning/building for a small fee. (like the Woodworkers Wood show I go to)

Would you attend something like that concept and find that helpful ?

It'd be nice if there was a show out there like that. Check the Metalshaping Events section on Metalmeet.com. They have threads for International & Regional Metalmeet events. I've read nothing but good things about these events and hope to attend one in my area in the future.
