Default Need help-Spring not seating

Coil over spring goes in fine on LF side and butts up against the indent in the upper spring pocket nicely. The RF, that's another story---obviously I don't want to grind the spring down---I noticed when I took it out that it was really jammed in there, but wasn't sitting where it should have been---looks like it must have rotated and then popped into place---had to use some serious force to pull it out. I've tired jacking it up and putting pressure on it--haven't put the car on the ground yet---these are QA1 springs--not that it makes a diff---

Any of you guys run into this before? Not sure how I would clearance the upper spring mount on the frame---some long extention with a sanding roll on my die grinder is the only idea I have at the moment---any suggestions besides the purchase of a new DSE sub (Todd) appreciated. Can't wait to take it all back apart.

Doug

I'd just get the new sub..... I'd have to wonder if the spring is out of spec. Lube never hurts.

trying to understand the problem, if it "poped into place"
Or is it that the end of the spring is making it's way into a step in the frame? because those can vary, and the conical springs tend to have a smaller wire that can get cought in a small pocket, I would get correct conventional springs and shocks for the application.

It somehow popped into the spring bucket previously--probably when I put the full weight of the car against it on the ground--but when it did so, it wasn't lined up (or bottomed out against the "step" or indent) against the indent in the upper spring bucket--so it rotated some--by at least and inch or more. Now, as I go to reinstall spring, I cannot get it to butt up against this indent---it's almost as if the spring is to small to fit it in there correctly--it is close--but not close enough. It's the right spring and shock for the app.
