Default Reliability of MSD DIGITAL6 PLUS

and MSD products in general? Wondering what everyones experience has been with MSD products. I have had my Digital6 go out on me, more times than I care to count, in my Pantera, everytime leaving me stranded without warning. I even had a new one go bad right out of the box. My wiring is clean and all voltage is correct. Are they extra sensitive to vibration? Whatever it is, I have lost all confidence in that product and I'm looking in to switching to ICE ignitions when funds allow. Thoughts?

I am not sure if the model you have is built the same, but there is a specific model for off road that is made for high vibration resistance. I will see if I can find that part number.

EDIT: What I found was just the "6AL Off Road" and that is entirely different than what you have. I do know they (the 6AL Off Road) hold up well but don't know if it will work the way you want compared to the Digital 6. Sorry, wish all of that was more help.

I had a Digital 6 Plus for a couple of years, had no problems. But that was a number of years ago, maybe they're not made with the same level of parts anymore?

Getting a bad one right out of the box doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Default Pantera Ignition

Hi, I would contact Steve (panterasbywilkinson.com)

He sells a "neat" DIS ignition that will not fail.

I never had a problem and ran them in 2 different cars but I do know one thing...they do not like underhood heat. Mount it in a cool spot.
