Default Sound deadener / how much for a tri 5 ?

I just took my 57' Chevy for a good long drive and am now looking into sound deadener. I have only the carpet and jute pad, nothing else (no door panels or headliner), so I realize that is a huge culprit but I think I should put some sort of mat down on all of the panels. I stopped by the local street rod shop and they have dynamat and hushmat... The hushmat was about 15 % cheaper, so I may go with that. 58 sq ft for 300.00 sound good? I would like to entirely cover the roof, doors, floor, trunk, rear side panels, firewall, etc... Can anyone give me a square footage on what is needed? I can go out and use a tape measure, but would rather not if someone already has this info... As a guesstimate, I am thinking 2 boxes of the 58 sq ft mat should get me there. Thank you!

Jason

To cover EVERYTHING completely as you stated, you not even close. More like 6 boxes to do it all in Dynatat 36 sq ft boxes. It took 3.5 boxes to do a 71 Firebird not including the trunk.

I really don't have a ballpark on your square footage but I just bought 100 sq ft of Fat Mat www.FatMat.com for $129 shipped! Same stuff as everyone else, they just don't have the markup to pay for the massive ad budget.

Hushmat told me it would take two bulk kits to do the whole car.

I haven't layed it down yet, so I'm not sure how much that actually covers.

We are a dealer for Second Skin and could get you into a 80 sq ft shop pack of their Damplaflier Pro for very reasonable prices. We have been using it in house on a couple of our builds with great results.

I have both a 55 & a Nova that needs it, I like the price specially if it works like I am reading........ 200 yds for everything for both should do it.
