Its almost all that and some other things (suspension, engine stuff, and what makes you stand out more than the other guy that is trying to get a spread too). You also have to have connections with people in the magazine industry. At least for my old car that was what it was. I shot for 2 magazines and a online article.

I dont know if it's different for older muscle cars but my old car was a subaru sti.

Magazine worthy cars are typically trailered to events, and rarely driven except for industry events.

A trip to the grocery store? Never a magazine worthy car!

Can't damage the $20,000 paint job with a shopping cart!

just funnin around.

Would really need to see pictures..

Magazine cars arn't anything necessarily special.. they typically fall into two groups.

Cool cars
&
Cars with cool stories

The better the story behind the car the crappier it can be. Some cars, like the Ring Brother's Camaro are shot because they are like pieces of art. Other cars like Mary Pozzi's second get are shot because there's a great story behind the car.

I guess there's one more catagory.. cars that are driven hard. Although that could be considered having a "good story"

On thing that can kill getting a shoot is a bad stance or outdated wheels.

Another thing that matters is where the car is located since we can't shoot stuff that's far away and we only have so many freelancers.
