Default chassis dyno shopping

Hi all, its almost christmas and we are chassis dyno shopping. After looking high and low at SEMA we are torn between the Mustang and Dyno Jet unit.
I have had 4 years experience on both but that was 5 years ago and I know things have changed. If any one can make suggestions and reasons why or why not it would help narrow our choice to one. Also what tuning programs would you recommend for GM & Ford. HP tuner looks promising and easy to use. Thanks in advance Vin

The Mustang Dyno is better for real-world tuning. It can load like on the road which is much better when tuning a car. The Dynojet is much more common and what most people quote for numbers. They're also higher so from a customers point of view they're going to want the higher numbers on their printout.

If you're using it for tuning I'd lean towards the Mustang unit. If you're mostly going to be doing dyno pulls for customers they'll probably prefer the Dynojet.

Personally I would go with either Dyno Dynamics Lowboy or with Dynapack's 3000 or 4500. Both are excellent for tuning because of how they can load in real time and actually hold it. Mustang dyno does that some what but it does slip a bit when given great load.

I agree. You'll like the dyno jet. HP tuners is good too. Most of my LS1 friends are using HP tuners much more friendly than LS1edit.
