I'm looking for a pair of inexpensive 315/35-17 that hold air so I can set up my chassis and roll the car in/out of the shop. I live just south of Fresno, CA so anyone nearby that I could do a local pick up would be best. My car is a lower priority than my three kids, but I want to get the chassis set up. I honestly don't know how long til the car will be road ready, so I hate to buy new tires just to let them rot on the rim before it is driveable.
Hey Larry
I think the issue is that the tire size you are asking for isnt real common, so the chance of you finding a decent used one...and in your area...is not high. Possible but not real high
There are plenty of people running a 315....but not a ton...so the used market isnt real big.
My suggestion is to just buy the tires you want/need. If you keep them stored properly, they willl last a long time.
Thank you for your responses. I've thought about getting new tires, since I've seen them for as low as $250/pair, but I would not want to run them if it takes me as long to finish the car as I think it will take.
I wasn't sure how common this size is. I've seen them on Cobra kits and I've heard they're stock Corvette size.
Larry check your local craigslist....do a search for "corvette wheels" or "corvette tires" and you more than likely will find a cheap deal on used tires and/or wheels too...
