Default Opinions about a compressor.Quincy now or IR later

I have a chance to buy a Quincy QT5 2 stage its a 2007 it was used in a wood shop. It had a bad bearing and burnt the motor out . Quincy replaceds the whole compressor. The owner had it rebuilt with all Quincy parts and a new Baldor motor . 230 single phase. It doesn't have the dryer option. The tank is 80 gal epoxy coated inside the only thing missing is the belt guard. I can get it for $800 New their about $1700.It can put out 18.5 cfm at over 100psi.
What do you guys think? A new IR 5 hp 60 gal is $900 new. The garage isn't built yet but storing it is no problem.

Get the quincy, I have an IR 80 gallon 2 stage and it's not that old, hardly and hrs and I just had to replace both the pressure switch and the motor, after some research found out that the motors on the IR's have a tendency to over heat, some have even caught fire(glad mine wasn't one)Leeson brand motors.

Get that compressor! I have one and I have tried to kill it for 10 years, running it 4-5 hours everyday. It's a great compressor for the money.

YES BUY IT! The dryer can be added any time and you can make a belt guard pretty easy. Go for it!

My IR had about 50 hrs on it when the 5hp. motor burnt out. My neighbor had the same thing happen to him with his 7 1/2 hp motor on his IR. Buy the Quincy.
