Default Uncle

Well, after 4 years it's time to call it quits on my 69 Camaro. Like many, I have been out of work for the majority of the last year. I actually sold my house to avoid selling the car, but now that time has come as well. The bummer is I actually have a free, safe place to store it, just no garage or money to move forward with the car. The odds of returning to my previous income levels seem slim for the next few years, and it doesn't feel right to just park it and let it deteriorate.

I love this site. It is what got me into old cars that handle. Hopefully I will be back sometime with a new project I can actually finish. Thanks to all that helped me with issues from time to time. I will still visit often I'm sure - daydreaming about what could have been...

Check the For Sale threads to benefit from my misfortune. Parts there now, car will go up when I get good photos.

I sure did have fun with her up in the mountains above town here in Colorado. One of my favorite pics attached. Cheers!

well thats a bummer when you have to let go. but many of us are in the same situation. i havent been able to spend a nickle into my project, and have actually had t sell some parts from it to pay other bills. hopefully sometime soon i will be able to get back on it, until then its on the back burner.

Its a bummer you cant keep it and store it for future, but your must do what you have to do.

Sorry to hear that it must go...I guess you can take what you have learned from this project and put that into the next one! Remember, you don't have to have a 'current' project to hang out here! Best of luck!

Sorry to hear about that. I am in the same boat. If things don't turn around, I will have to start selling parts of my car too. Best of wishes to you.

I know how you feel....things are tough. I am at the same place with my Cougar. If it was worth anything at all, I would probably sell it, but as it is it sits there, in my dad's garage, right next to the other worthless POS I own (Super Gas car with a broken motor)
I have a huge emotional attachment to the Cougar, or it would be gone. Good luck, and I hope you don't have to walk away for too long.

That's really rough. If I lost my job(which could happen anytime in my line of work), I'd probably be forced with the same situation. One of my favorite builds of all time(Project Splitter, Trans Am) that was documented here ran into the same situation when the builder lost his job and had to sell it. Unfortunately it's very common that life has its peaks and valleys and they're definitely tough to get through sometimes. Hopefully you'll soon experience one of those 'peaks' again in the near future and maybe it will allow you to get your car back or maybe build something even better. Best wishes.
