On this the 8th anniversay of that horrible day, please pause and offer a moment of silence to honor the victims and the brave military men and women that are currently keeping our beloved country safe.

I do a weekly newsletter that I send out to over 2500 contacts of mine. Here is the first paragraph I wrote this morning.

It's the 8th anniversary of 9/11 today. I still remember waking up and turning on the TV right before the first building fell and watching the second plane slam into the second tower. It was a real reality check in terms of just how good we have it in the USA. The evil that exists in other areas of the world is easy to forget. I feel for all our fallen heros and the families that lost loved ones on 9/11 and subsequently in the war. I could've easily been one of them. My Mother had lunch on top of the world trade center 3 weeks before the incident. I have nothing but the utmost respect for our military, fire fighters, policeman, and government. At the end of the day, they make it possible for us to live in our PERFECT world. The minute you think you have it bad, think just how much worse it could be.

Unhappy

I agree guys.
I watched some of the memorials that were on tv today and it's still very hard to watch without being sad, mad and helpless all at the same time!

My emotions run deep on this subject. NO ONE will ever get my airplane while I still breath..EVER! My deepest and most humble thanks goes out to everyone that works to defend our country, those who have paid for it by giving their life and those that we don't know of or think about.

I am working on a fire station right now and when I pulled up this morning everyone was out side at the base of a ladder truck in the parking lot. The ladder was all the way up and had a HUGE American flag hanging from the top. The sun was shinning threw the flag and all the fire fighters were having a moment of silence....it was quite a sight! That day will never be forgotten!

The flag was left up all day and as the cars drove by (on a highway) they would honk their horn to let the people in the fire house know they care and have not forgotten!

This is a copy and paste from my post on PT
I was working Airside at Logan Airport when the planes took off. We heard of the first plane and we were already warned we would be leaving. When the second plane hit we dropped our tools and were sent home. We were putting utilities across some runways . We went home and I watched it on TV and couldn't believe it was happening. I got a call we had to go back and close up the runway. We were searched and the trucks pulled apart and searched too .
It was the most sobering experence I ever had . When we left there were 2-300 planes waaiting for take off. That afternoon the only plane allowed to land were escorted by two F 15s that stayed over the airport and Boston all day. The planes were carying family and company personal. We were guarded by snipers from the Ma state police . It was erie not a sound besides our work. It was hard to concentrate to say the least.
I January 2002 I went on a cruise . There were NY Fiemen and their families on it, who worked at the Tradecenter. As hard as they tried they were still messed up fom it . One minute smiling and having a good time the next lost somewhere in thought. I was heart breaking to see. I'm pretty reserved but there was one guy who got me to sing Jimmy Buffet songs at the piano bar with him.
I will never forget..........
