Default Anyone interesting in Buttonwillow for $99

Hello All,

For those interested in pulling some lateral-g's on the track I am going to a track day at Buttonwillow on Friday 2 October for $99. I regularly track my street '69 Camaro with NASA and NCRC and I would like to see cars out there with me other than the ususal Mini's, BMW's, Honda's, etc... I know this forum has some serious track ready beasts, and hoped some in the SoCal area would like to join in. The configuration will be 1CCW, and each group gets (5) 20-25 minute sessions for plenty of track time. Plus the extreme heat should be gone by then as well. The website is at: ttp://www.ncracing.org/events.php for those interested.

Regards

Thanks for the post. After yesterday's El Toro event Sal has shown great interest in taking the Camaro to one of the Willow's so I will pass the info along to him.

Hopefully Sal can make it, and I hope to see your awesome machine at the track once you complete it.

Just a quick report of how the event was... We got quite a superise. Many very HIGH END cars showed up. It almost looked like a tuneup session for the Optima Batteries Challenge. Bad Penny, The Jackass Camaro, Mary Pozzi's Camaro, The OrangeCrush Chevelle, Craig Boone's '69, and others were there and running on the track. I could not believe the quality of these cars, and they all got on the track as well. For something really usual -and very cool- a guy showed up in a '57 Chevy Wagon with C4 Corvette suspension. The car worked surprisingly well on track.

On the flip side we got three drivers -two 1st Gen Camaro and the '57- that had never been on the track before, so folk's from all levels were able to enjoy and share in the fun. It was a day to remember for a long time. It's to bad it was over so quick. Hopefully more can join in next time, or be bold and post that a track day is occuring in your area...You never know what might happen!

Regards

Don the 57 was Paul Newman of newman car creations and his son. They were really nice guys they gave some really good advice and insight on a project of mine and I cant believe how fast that wagon was on the track.

Tyson,

Thanks for helping by posting the photos, as I only had a few lame still shots before we when out on the track. It's to bad nobody got a shot of the Neuman's '57 on the track.
