Default Selling a car to someone in Europe

Has anyone sold their car to a buyer located abroad and is so how was the selling experience? What type of payment did you take? Thanks

Yeah.

Bank to bank wire transfer, they figure out the exchange rate. Once the agree amount is in your account, it's good to go.

Shipping is a pain in the ass. Make sure you have all of your documents in order. I shipped a car to Sweden and it was a nightmare. I would use a broker and it would make life much easier. I didn't and had to learn the hard way.

I've done it a few times from this end. Prefer to come over in person and simply pick up the car.
1) Check out the car, draw up the Bill Of Sale, both sign in consideration of payment in full.
2) Back to hotel, make express transfer by on-line banking. The time difference to Europe works with you here.
3) Drink beer with seller.
4) Go to sellers bank next morning, confirm that money are in.
5) Drive off into the sunset!

If I use a proxy or just a hauling company, I use Escrow.com and have the hauler make sure the seller delivers all the paperwork. Hauler calls Escrow.com and verifies that the deal is completed once they have the car loaded.

I've done it 3 times. I am also from Europe.
I call the seller and make a conversation. Normally I can tell if the seller is after my money or a honest guy.
The seller gives me his bank details and I make a wire transfer into his account. As soon the money is in he releases the car. I always have a shipping company who is arranging haulin from the sellers house to the docs.

Done this 3 weeks ago. Bought a 72 camaro from a very friendly seller in Arizona. I wired the money and a truck came by to pick up the car.

No worries. If the money is in your account everything is fine.
Maybe you can help the guy to bring the car to the docs (if you live close by)
The seller will ask you to make a bill of sale. sometimes lower than the sales price. this is to lower import duties. Does not affect you.

questions? just let me know.
