Default 8" wide wheels on stock subframe?

So I'm rethinking my wheel/tire combo. I'm going from 17x7's with 235 series tires up front to 18x8's w/235 series on a stock subframe. I haven't read anything negative but I wanted to get some opinions.

I ran a 17x8 with 4.75" backspacing on a stock subframe with no issues.

We almost ALWAYS run an 8" wide wheel up front, with a 245. A 235 is also acceptable on an 8" wide wheel. Not to say we haven't put 235s on 7s before, but a better fit for a 235 is an 8" wide wheel.
