Hooker sidepipe shields!

Anyone who`s ever burned their leg on their Hooker side pipes and ESPECIALLY anyone who`s WIFE has burned her leg on them will be interested in these! http://www.koolmat.com/side-exhaust.shtml We did the first set for a customer who`s wife swore she`d never ride in the Corvette again unless the sidepipes went bye bye. The outter case is 14ga. laser cut,mirror polished stainless steel. The inner shielding is Kool Mat`s NASA/Boeing Heatmaster shielding. This material was developed for and is actually used in SPACECRAFT. The shields fit nice and close to the pipes (the shadow in the pic makes them look farther away than they are) and don`t ruin the lines of the car or the pipes. We let this `77 Vette with a healthy 468BBC idle for 45mins. at 1000RPM,,the collectors and sidepiepes were litterally hot enough to fry and egg on,water drop just sizzled and skittered off them in a puff of steam. The shields were still literally ROOM TEMPERATURE,as if they`d just come out of the box! Same result after a 1/2 hour drive,including a few full power blasts. I don`t blame anyone for calling ,in fact the owner didn`t believe it either. Until he took it out for a test drive,pulled into the lot and put his hand right on the shield and it was barely even luke warm. They actually get hotter from just sitting in the sun than they do from the exhaust heat! NASA must know what they`re doing. We were so impressed we ordered more and are the sole dealer for them at this time. Retail price is about $550 a pair. We can do these for Camaros and custom applications as well! If you don`t need the stainless outter shield but do need OUTSTANDING protection from heat for a twin turbo installation etc. we can do NASA/Boeing shields in any size or shape.
