Default Random eye candy from Back to the 50's

Darrell and I spent Saturday morning at Back to the 50's in St. Paul. Great event, great venue, great weather. 12,000+ cars and the weekend attendance is estimated at over 125,000. Although it's limited to 1964 and older cars, it's still a cool event.

These are just random, interesting pics...

This is just a tiny fraction of the cars and spectators:

Thumbs up Awesome

That is an awesome show. I spent most of the day out there Saturday -- what a mix of cool cars! Now I can't wait for Car Craft next month!

Scotts in place for the pic...stage right some clown cuts in front of him and sets up his shot....then, you guessed it, Scott cut right in front of him and snapped the little beauty that you see here...

Thumbs up

I was there for all three days.

Friday morning, I watched the weather and started getting a nasty cough, so I called in to work......

Saturday the family joined me for a day of hot cars and hot temps.

The best was today. My friend Matt (SpeedyV10) hooked me up with a car pass so I could bring my '64 Riviera into the show AND my 4 year old son wanted to to hang out again at the show. The best Father's Day ever.

We strapped in the Simpson Racing car seat in the front (no seat belts in the back of my Riviera) and left pretty early for the show. Just him and I. Not far from home, we got our first 'thumbs up' from a guy driving by and my son (who can now see out the windows when he sits up front) said "Daddy, who was that guy waving?". I explained the whole "thumbs up thing" as we kept driving and whenever we passed a street rod, he would hold his thumb high and smile at the other cars.

It was a great weekend and I really appreciate having a friend like Matt. He had cool shade and full coolers all weekend. We even got to go for a parade lap in a mint '54 Lincoln convertible.

What a blast!
Randy
